Success & Legacy

Delivering the WOW: A celebration of success and legacy
To celebrate the storied career of Richard Fain at Royal Caribbean, the author released a book honoring the culture that helped shape the company into an industry leader. To mark both the milestone and the man behind it, his wife, Colleen, envisioned an intimate yet epic book launch—one steeped in literary charm and nautical symbolism.
The celebration took place at their home of more than forty years, a setting rich with personal memorabilia collected over a lifetime of travel, leadership, and creativity.
Under Fain’s tenure, Royal Caribbean expanded from just five ships to nearly sixty, and the evening paid homage to that remarkable legacy through thoughtful design moments inspired by exploration and imagination.

As a true book launch, literature guided the experience: bookshelves doubled as escort displays with library cards assigning guests to their seats, while “librarians” guided attendees before transforming into performers throughout dinner.
At the heart of the tent stood a wizardly open book that evolved into a chandelier of cascading pages, while the stage backdrop featured a bookshelf installation spelling out the word WOW using hand-painted books.
Completing the narrative, the bar was designed as the hull of a ship, and a striking art installation—created by the author himself—displayed a collection of magnum champagne bottles used to christen ships across the Royal Caribbean fleet. The result was a deeply personal celebration that honored leadership, storytelling, and a lifetime of visionary achievement.
