The Event Summit 2025 at The Alfred I. DuPont Building

In the spring of 2025, the Chris Weinberg Events team approached us to design and produce The Event Summit, a brand-new educational conference for the industry, held for the first time in the historic Alfred I. duPont Building in downtown Miami. Across two days of programming for 100 to 150 industry professionals, the brief called for a space that could flex across multiple events while creating room for both collective and individual growth and connection.

If this summit was built to help event professionals elevate, lead, and grow, the space itself should embody that idea. So we let nature take the room, cultivating a living garden of emerald, olive, and sage against the venue's 1930s Art Deco bones, and its original two-tone taupe marble floors, which became the muted base of a palette carried into mid and deep tones by the brand's greens.

Arriving guests converged at the connecting hallway, met by a custom-fabricated registration desk framed with living greenery pedestals. From there, the guest flow grew far more intricate. The design challenge was one of choreography: carving distinct, purpose-built spaces from a single long hall. We anchored the stage at one end to establish the main conference, then reimagined the corridor as breakout rooms. To make that long run intimate, heavy velvet draping subdivided it into ten private spaces, each hosting a table of ten for a discussion luncheon. At the back of the room, food stations lined the back wall, and between the conference seating and the buffet we tucked a gathering lounge — a place for guests to step back from the main sessions whenever they needed a breath.

On the opposite side of the venue — once the heart of the bank in its original life : we imagined and brought to life the closing event: a cocktail party. At its center, a custom lounge anchored by a floating arch dripping with cascading greenery. The original bank teller windows became a fully functioning main bar, and across the lounge we built a stage for DJ Malik and Curated Entertainment to bring life to the room.

The Event Summit proved that an educational conference could be as considered, as artful, and as beautiful as the most elevated social celebration. As industry professionals, we normally spend our days crafting extraordinary gathering spaces for everyone else, so pouring that same devotion into an event for our own community wasn't just a project. It was a privilege, and a homecoming.
